Dr. Heidi Stensmyren is a seasoned specialist in anesthesiology and intensive care, and a pharmaceutical executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience in healthcare. She currently serves as Chief of Medical Affairs at Cellcolabs and is an R&D affiliate at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery at Karolinska Institutet. She is the former President of the World Medical Association and served for six years as President of the Swedish Medical Association.

Dr. Stensmyren has chaired the Swedish Council for Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation at the National Board of Health and Welfare. Her expertise contributed significantly to two national inquiries on organ and tissue donation and transplantation. She has also served as a member of the Swedish Government’s Life Science Advisory Board and is currently a board member of both Research Sweden and the Swedish Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Assessment of Social Services.

Before joining Cellcolabs, Dr. Stensmyren was Managing Director of the Women’s Health and Health Allied Professionals Department at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm.
